Well I think I have a few moments without kids crawling on me so that I can write the birth story.
I woke up Friday morning about 3 a.m. having some mild contractions. I moved around a bit and they kept coming. I tried to rest some more but the contractions were coming about 10 min. apart so that didn't work very well. Around 6 a.m. we called my IPs to let them know that it would definitely be that day and we would call them when we headed for the hospital. My sister-in-law came over so that she could watch the girls when we left. About 8:30 we started heading for the hospital since the ctx were about 3-5 minutes apart. We got there about 9 and I was about 3 cm. They let me walk around for a little bit and about an hour later I was 4 cm. I labored for another 2 hours or so. The nurse was really great about getting me the birthing ball and letting me change positions. By about 1p.m. I was having a really difficult time getting through the ctx. They were very strong and coming about a minute apart. I really wanted to go without an epidural this time but I was having a really hard time. I don't think it helped that I didn't get much sleep that night either, so I got the epidural. I was 8 cm when they gave it to me.
Of course after the epidural my ctx almost completely stopped, they were coming every 15 min. and weren't very strong. They gave me pitocin but after an hour I hadn't really started contracting much better. They decided to check me anyways and wouldn't you know I was complete and ready to start pushing. Somehow she managed to get down with hardly any ctx. I started pushing around 3 p.m. and Addison Elizabeth was born at 3:23. She weighed 7lb. 4 oz. and was 19.75" long.
They gave the baby right to IM after the baby was born and she got to hold her for a few minutes before they started cleaning her up. It was an amazing thing to see my IPs with the baby afterwards and I just couldn't believe I had done it.
My husband is already asking me when I want to do it again. I have to keep telling him that I would like to take a little break, lol. I have been pumping since she was born and it has been going really well. I will attach a few more pictures as well.
