Not in the US. It's not just an "agency" requirement, but a requirement of the RE's and clinics. While it has happened where a woman has been approved to be a surrogate w/out having given birth prior or be raising their own child, those are very few and far between. You see that when working w/close family, not "strangers".

Glad I stumbled upon this post. I could tell that my access was limited, but I didn't know why or how to change it. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello,

I am new here and new to the whole surrogacy process in general, and I have a quick question if anyone could help me out. I have done a little research on different surrogacy agencies and requirements to be a surrogate. I have noticed that most places require the potential surrogate to have already had a child, however my husband and I have no plans of having a child of our own and this is one of the main reasons we decided to look into surrogacy, so that we could help others who want a child but cannot have one on their own. Does anyone know of an agency that does not require the surrogate to already be a mother?

Thank you!

Hello, I am relatively new to this too, but a friend of mine has been a surrogate for 5 babies, and from my understanding, most agencies want to know or have proof that you can carry a healthy pregnancy before entrusting you to carry someone else's. Hope this helps.
