A Gestational Surrogate Mother carries a child that is not biologically connected to her in any way. Through the process of in-vitro fertilization (IVF), the intended mother's (or donor's egg) is fertilized with the intended father's (or donor's) sperm. The resulting embryo is then implanted into the surrogate's womb so that she may carry the baby to term.
