I have Kaiser insurance. I just got my Evidence of Coverage book. In one section it says that it will cover me if I am the surrogate but not if I am having someone else be my surrogate but then in another section it says that they are entitled to the entire amount of compensation I am getting whether it's for medical or not? They want my contracts faxed to them. Has anyone ever heard of that? Does that seem right. We are selfemployed an I am thinking of changing insurances anyway so does anyone know of any companies in CA that cover Surrogacy?

I have NEVER heard of an insurance company asking to see a copy of a contract. No way would I ever do that! It's no one's business but yours and your IP's!
I can't help with Kaiser, but since it seems as though their radar is already up, I don't think I'd run anything through your insurance just to be on the safe side. If you're negotiating your contract now, I'd be sure to let IP's know what's going on. Good luck!

Do they consider your IP's Other Health Insurance? That is why they are wanting to see the contract probably b/c they want to "cost share" with them. I wouldn't fax in my contract at all, it's none of their business. If the policy book states they cover your pregnancy then they cover it.

If I don't fax in the contract though can they refuse to pay becasue they said they needed a copy of the contract? I am looking at other insurance now but mine is much better so I would like to use it if I can?
